Credit Report fix question
Date: Fri, 09/21/2007 - 08:54
Not long ago my husband checked on some credit and they talked to him about some debt on my report.
I was devorced 9 years ago. There were 2 debts one was a credit card the other the mobile home we lived in. They were both given by the court over to my ex to pay.
It shows up on my credit report as a bad debt. Do I need to mail each credit reporting place a copy of the devorce papers stating that these debts were given to my ex?
Will that help my credit?

Yes I would send them copies of the judges decree. It became his debt when you divorced and should come off of yours. It should increase your score, but by how much would be determined by what else you have on your credit report.
