I paid in full a collection account and the collection agency sent me a letter that the account has been paid in full. I waited for a month and noticed that the account was not reported as paid in full in my credit report. I disputed the account with experian and sent a copy of the paid in full letter to experian. Experian said "After careful review of the information you sent, we cannot change the information on your credit report". I called the collection agency and tney said the account has already been reported to experian as paid in full. I tried to dispute the account with experian again, but experian said I cannot dispute the information that has already been verified. I am stuck. Can somebody tell me what I should do to get the information on my credit report updated as paid in full. Please share any similat experience you may have. Thanks in Advance!

The only suggestion i have is to wait a few more weeks and see if it doesn't change. I know sometimes it can take quite a while for experian to update. But seems to me if u sent exp ur PIF letter they sud update immeidately. I'm sure someone will be around soon who can be of more help to u.
Good Luck,
Ang

Cajunbulldog, pls help, I've been learning from cases and comments by you and moderators here since last month...wanna let you know, they are really helpful and inspiring, and...yes, after hitting the bottom, I am trying to find my way up.

I have a question, I have sent DVs to all those CAs since last month. In my DVs I asked them to provide relevant proofs, otherwise to report and delete their claim in CRs. Now, I got no responses (after 30 days). Do you have a sample letter in stating this to CRA? I've learned I have to move fast before getting hit by new inquiries in my CRs from new CAs, who bought prospective claims from previous CAs, which were sent those DVs. Thx!

Goodnelly, i actually used these sample letters for DVs, but now trying to find decent words for CRA asking them to remove out of date accounts/SOL, 2000-2002, after CAs weren't able to response back with any proofs (I try to avoid the CAs from creating new reopened date, lengthening the removal date from CR, or if those were a new credit account, I had no idea).

What would be the next step after sending DVs, but got no response back from CAs. Do you think CRA able to delete the CAs account provided the CAs that I sent DV weren't able to provide the proofs? Some CA accounts were double, some I had no idea at all from Palisades, Pinnacle, or NCO.

I screwed up in the past, but with a recent health and job recovery, I tried to clean up by contacting original creditor, whose name still shows up in my CR.

Thx!
