Acceptance Letter For Settlement
Date: Fri, 07/21/2006 - 06:38
I received a settlement letter from a company regarding a credit card debt. It's finally something that I can handle and take care of.
My question is this, I am sending them an Agreement to Compromise Debt to sign, saying what the amount is agreed upon and so forth. Should I let them sign first or should I just go ahead and sign?
Thanks.

Who has placed the settlement offer? Is it the original creditor
Who has placed the settlement offer? Is it the original creditor or the collection agency? If it is a collection agency, you can do the arrangements directly with the creditor if the account has not been sold off. You can sign the agreement or let them sign the papers first. But you must have the arrangement in writing when you start doing the payments.
