I disputed a few charge-offs with Experian online and within hours they show them as verified. I also received a letter from them through the mail today saying that the accounts were verified and now updated. What's my next step? They are old charge off accounts at least 4 yrs old and it wouldn't do me any good paying them off. Should I send DV's to the CA's before I sent Experian a method of verification letter? Also these accounts are listed both by the OC and CA to which they are assigned? Can they do that? Also both Experian and Transunion have different dates these accounts will be removed from my CR even the dates of removal by the OC's are different from the CA's? How can this be? HELP!!! By, the way 2 of the accounts are from LVNV and Asset Acceptance and they are both showing different dates of removal from the original creditors. The OC will have the accounts removed from my CR this yr but those two CAs won't remove the accnts until 2012. Can they do that!???

I heard to never dispute online....once you do, and they verify it you can never dispute it again. You need to send written letters asking for backup paperwork relevant to the chargeoffs. Also send it certified, if they cannot come up with backup paperwork within 30 days by law they will need to remove it.

The CRA's do not have to come up with backup anything. They verify thru their eOscar system. The reason for not disputing online is that they can suppress the tradeline during the dispute and it can be re-reported by the data furnisher. It was their answer to FACTA. If you are disputing from your free annual report they have 45 days to respond, 30 days if you purchased your reports.

They can be reported for 7 years + 180 days from the Date of First Default

Yes

Call TU and EX and ask for the Date of First Default as reported by the Data Furnishers. They should be the same date for the OC and CA. If the CA's date is a later date, then they have re-aged the account and have violated the FCRA.
