After I paid my cards from debt settled I would hire an attorney who specializes in this field but can it actually be done by one or by one of those agencies? I don't want to get scammed but will certainly pay for it if it works.
Anybody know anyone in the houston area?

Even with an attorney, there is no guarantee that tradelines will come off. If they are reporting correcting, legally the creditors have no obligation to remove them. An attorney in this case has no bargaining power.

I was with lexington law and Ovation law within the last 10 years , they both did a good job, you dispute on there website and there paralegals send the letters every 60 days..Its time consuming and you have to send them all responses from the bureaus, or it wont work ..

10 years? Way too long for me. I'm going to consolidate if I need to. I already called up my creditors myself and they reduced 2 of my chase cards to 0% and 1 other to 3%, all for 5 years, and reported them closed by me on my reports so it doesn't look bad. That's perfect! The only thing is I have to watch not to miss a payment. I would suggest anyone call their creditors and negotiate a deal. Nowadays it seems everyone wants to work something out to get paid.
