You must have received a court order which authorized the account freezing. That order itself says every possible steps you can undertake to challenge it.
It must be a debt issue where a default judgment may have caused this account freezing.

Contact your bank and get the number for the department that handles bank levies. Have them fax you a copy of the court order that gave them permission to freeze your account. That should give you the court and case number. COntact or go down to the court and obtain a copy of the case file. Pay close attention to the method of service. If service was improper for your state, then you will need to submit a Motion to Vacate.

Have you pulled your credit reports to see if you have any derogatory accounts? Have you checked with the county courthouse to see if a judgement has been awarded?
frozen bank account due to lawsuit
My husband passed away last year. Before he passed away,unknown to me, his bank accoount was frozen due
to a lawsuit. I have contacted a lawyer who contacted
the lawyer who put the freeze on the account. The lawyer
has not replied to my lawyer (this has been going on for l
year). How do I go about getting the freeze lifted?
I now live in a different state.
