CA has wrong name om my Credit Report

The CA has old debt from 2000 that I was an authorized user on , but the thing is the company is listed as Visa Platinum and not the bank that sent out the cards. Does this mean they don't even know the original creditors name? Also on my credit report it has the date opened as 12/08 so it looks to any prospective lenders that I took a loan out in 12/08. I hope you can help me answer these questions. Especially why isn't the correct name of the creditor on my report instead of Visa Plainum?
