Will the judgment remain active after the SOL period is over?

I have received judgment for a collection account. The SOL period on the collection account will expire in October 2013. Will the judgment remain active after the SOL period is over? I was planning to sell my house in South Pasadena and pay off the judgment. But, if the judgment doesn't remain valid, then I will not sell my house.
