car loan judgement

please help i just saw my credit report and capone auto put a judgement aganist me and i was not on the loan. i took over my alling dads carpayments but i was never on the loan can they do that to me.thank you
If your name in not on the note, then you are not responsible.
If your name in not on the note, then you are not responsible. Did you receive a summons? If not, then you can file a motion to vacate for improper service. Check with the clerk of the court in your county. They can give you information on the judgement, and the forms for filing the motion.
