I added my wife on to almost all of my credit card

I added my wife on to almost all of my credit cards as an authorized user years ago which helped increase her credit score. Times got tougher and more debt added up causing me to back track a bit. January 2011, I called all my creditors and requested that she now be removed as an authorized user assuming all the debt in my name was having a huge impact on bringing her score down. I just got a copy of both our credit reports and I am now confused about something. Down where it shows the 24 month payment history, it looks like the last reportings were December 2010 on my wife's report. Shouldn't this be completely removed or is that supposed to tell the same story? Help please

I guess it's time that your wife needs to write to the Credit bureaus. She must disclose that she's only an authorized user on your card, and that she's in no way responsible for your debt. She can probably ask to remove all derogatory information that is showing up on her report due to your non-payment. It will probably take 30 days before it gets updated on her report.

An authorized user is not responsible for the debt. In this case, your wife is an authorized user of your credit cards. Since you requested creditors to remove your wife???s name as an authorized user from credit cards, that???s why your credit card payment history will be reported to your wife???s credit report till December,2010.

When a person is an authorized user under the account of another, all credit history, including derogs and delinqencies, reported on the account of the card holder appears on the credit report of the authorized user.
While the AU is not legally responsible for the debt, by accepting AU status, they do become responsible as far as CR inclusion of the good and the bad.
When AU status is terminated, the entire account will be removed from the AUs credit report, not just events that occured after the termination of AU status.
