I have got a credit report but confused what to look for. What are the things I need to check in my reports?

Check your personal details. This includes your name, SSN, and address. Check your credit summary. You'll get an overall idea of revolving accounts, installment loans, home loans, etc. Check credit inquiries, public records and trade lines. You'll get to know if there are collection accounts or accounts in good standing.

When you check your credit report there are several information you should look for. Make sure you check Your Credit Report for accounts that aren't yours. Review the Inquiries section to make sure the businesses listed are businesses you applied for credit With. Confirm that all your open accounts are reported as open. Last but not the least, check for negative information outside the credit reporting time limit.
