I have a CA collecting on citi credit card that I did not pay back in 2006. I am negotiating with them and should be able to pay them by next week. Now the question is this debt was sold to them this year by the previous CA and the pervious CA is the one reporting this in collection under my credit report.

So now should I negotiate with this CA as “Pay to delete” or since they are not reporting this in collection under my credit report I should not ask for” pay to delete” and when I pay them next week. Only then I should called the previous CA and tell them what they have in my credit history is inaccurate and they have to take it out since they are not collecting this anymore neither this debt exists.

Have you asked them to validate the debt by sending the debt validation letter?

Credit reports don't get updated immediately. It's the job of the creditors to report properly to the credit bureaus. You can settle the debt with the collection agency and then ask them to update the information on your report. This can be done easily.
