collection accounts and bankruptcy

I am in the process of trying to clean up my credit report. I have one question for all of you...
I have accounts that show up under collection on my credit report, which were discharged via bankruptcy. Should these still show up there? Or should I ask to have them removed?
Thanks for your help!
Sherry
