Trying to Clean Up My Credit

I made a lot of credit mistakes and I'm trying to get back on track. Unfortunately, I can't even tell what half of the collection items on my credit report are for. Can I send them a debt validation letter to request info about my debt, or is there another process. I WANT to pay my debt and I WANT to get my credit right, but I'm not sure how to start.

You have the right to make sure everything on your credit report is accurate. You can send letters to those reporting to make sure they have listed accurate information. If they can prove it then you can send pay for delete letters. ALWAYS get it in writing!
