I was declined for a CO card offer i received in the mail. I'm feeling really discouraged. I need some revolving credit to start boosting my score. I currently have a current student and auto loan with no past delinquency, though they have high balances. I also have a couple old collections ...thats it. What can i do?

You wouldn't be the first guy on this board to have a card from Fashion Bug. Or the first girl to have one from Lowes or Home Depot. Stay away from the ones that carry a MC/VISA logo. The straight store cards are easier to qualify for. But watch the interest rate. And remember, just because you have it, doesn't mean you have to use it.

You could also consider prepaid card from your bank or credit union. Use monthly and pay off each month. Some do have fees though.
