Does anyone have advice on removing collections from your report? I have been paying them down and have learned the debt amount of the collection is really pretty irrelevent. I have two collections on there...is it true that the longer ago they are on there the less negative impact they have? I'd really like to clean up my report and when my one negative Credit card item drops off sometime in the next few months, these will be my big negatives (aside from the lack of credit i have, though my student loans greatly help that). I just want to be able to get a good apartment or something of that nature

have you written to the 3 year and 5.5 year collection agencies
have you written to the 3 year and 5.5 year collection agencies and asked them for a goodwill adjustment? A lot of people have had very good luck in having paid collections removed from their credit reports.

The Date of First Default with the OC is the date that starts the 7.5 clock regardless of who is reporting the tradeline.
