I had an unexpected collection account appear on my account. Something I totally forgot about. I contacted them asked for a pay for removal, it was only $75.00. The CA told me that as a practice they do not remove things but said if I sent a dispute letter to all 3 credit bureaus saying "paid in full prior to collection" that they would not dispute it and the credit bureaus would be forced to remove it.
So far Experian and Transunion has removed them almost immediately, but nothing from Equifax yet. My question is - does equifax wait the full 30 days before removing it from CR.
My transunion score shot up over 700 by removing this item and paying my credit cards down to 4 percent. Truly amazing.:D

As far as I know, Equifax takes around 45 days to complete the investigation. So, wait for few more days.
