Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge about getting a collection account removed from the credit bureaus.

I have an account that went to collections, i few years ago i got into a payday loan nightmare and ruined my credit. I am trying to improve my credit and was wondering if i send a letter to the collection agency and tell them i will pay the account in full can i ask them to remove the account from my report? Can this be done? And is this something a collection agency would usually agree to?

Thanks for the help!

You may make a written request to the collection agency to remove the negative item from your credit report after repaying the debts. But it depends on their discretion whether or not to agree for deletion. You may also request them to update your account status as ???Paid-in-full???.
