I sent my disbute letters off to the companies and asked them to provide proper documentation of what the suspose debt was for. I recieved a letter back from one of companies stating that the account was sold to another company and they said they would forward my request to them. This is where my question is. They say the account was to another company but the new company is not showing on my credit report. However the orignal company that said they sold it is still showing. What do I do now. Do I write back to the orignal company and tell them since they do not have the account any more and can not provide information on the account they have to remove of my credit report. Or do I have to start writing letters to the new company that they said they sold the account to. The other great part is I have no idea what the orginal account is even for. Any help would be appreciated.:D

You should check your credit report in order to find out what the original account is for. You should contact the original company and find out the name of the new company to whom they sold off your account. As far as I can understand, you may request your original creditor to remove their listing from your credit report as they don't own your account any further. However, it remains the discretion of the original creditor whether or not they will remove the account from your credit report.
