My first mistake was opening a credit card the day I turned 18. Who knew a $400 limit could wind up with me paying hundreds a month for the interest 4 years later? Second mistake was continuing to open credit cards to develop credit. I now have a school loan, three credit cards, a wireless phone company and an apartment complex calling 200 times a day. I pay what I can with another person, but it's so difficult. I have to work two jobs in order to pay rent alone, I don't want to end up with hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt years from now. I want to take care of everything now, and just have to worry about my necesities.

Hi lindsdillinger, welcome!! :)

You need to work out an easy repayment plan with your creditors. Did you call the companies and request for some possible arrangements on your accounts? They will be willing to work on your terms and offer few extensions if they can understand your willingness to pay back. Or, you may seek professional help from a debt consultant. He will start negotiating with your companies and arrange a lower repayment plan. You will pay to the consolidation company and they will make payments to all your creditors included in the plan. You will get few benefits like lower interest rates, late fees waived off and a plan suitable to your present financial situation. Talk to a consultant for your options.
