However, if there is a wrong entry in your credit report, you're required to dispute it with the CRAs. Send them a letter of dispute with all the supporting documents, that will prove that the account wasn't owned by you. But if the account is appearing in all the three reports, then there is a chance that you might have had that account in the past. Try to contact the creditor to find out more about that account. If they can't provide you with the detailed account information, you can then move headlong to dispute it with the Big threes.
