Metro 2 Put False Information On My Report
Date: Fri, 11/02/2007 - 10:31
I posted a topic in one of the other Forums but I guess this is the one where I'd get more replies based on the subject.
I had bank account with WaMu that was overdrawn and placed into collections. I paid it off recently, but they said because it's a valid debt they won't remove it off of my report. Totally understandable. However, after showing cajunbulldog what my reports say in terms of the debt.. apparently there was an error by Metro 2 as to how it's worded. This is what it looks like on my reports.
Here's what it says:
Balance: $375
Date Updated: 06/2007
Original Balance: $375
Original Creditor: Washington Mutual
Past Due: >$375<
the next column says...
Pay Status: Collection Account
Account Type: Open Account
Responsibility: Individual Account
then at the bottom....
Loan Type: Collection Agency Attorney
Remark: Placed For Collection
Date placed for collection: [04/2007]
This is from my free report from TransUnion I got in August. My Equifax one says the same thing, just worded a little differently.
This was from August. Of course, I just paid it off last week so it'll be a little bit of time before it updates.. but still. Do I have anything to get this taken off? If so, who and how would I contact some one?

This page explains all the ins and out of the Metro 2 format required by a data furnisher to report to a credit reporting agency. I gave some tips on the last post you made about this topic and can email you a complete copy of the metro 2 manual if you wish to view it. Forum does not allow pdfs here so I would have to email it.

I guess I'm just confused as to the actual errors they made. I think what we decided was the fact that it says its an open account, yet I never agreed to an account with said laywer, correct?
