False payment arrangements on credit report.

I checked my credit report out of curiosity the other day. I know I have a debt for the balance(it was sold) & fees on a repo'd car from 2007 & wanted to get a date on the first payment made.
Strangely there were 18 'missed payments' reported from a payment arrangement I supposedly made with them. I've never spoken with anyone from any company or had mail contact since the day I had to call them & tell them to pick it up.
I plan on filing bankruptcy later this year since they seem to have tacked on another 8k in 'interest'. Is there any reason to bother disputing the false information on the credit report?
