I have a question...I was thinking this was embarrassing but then again....I filed bankruptcy 4 years ago and did not learn my lesson...and then got involved with the ipdl mess. I am working through that successfully and also have my CC and medical bills in a dmp.(4 months now). I'm not do for a new free credit report till
after the first of the year but recently pulled the last free one I had (Experian). It shows all my debt severely past due and in collections even though they have been recieving payments as agreed to for 4 months now. Shouldn't my report reflect that I am making payments?? My score which I paid for was in the high 500's....awfull!!!!
I'm asking because next June I plan on moving back home (Chicago). Evereything there is more expensive and rentals seem a lot stricter. I want to be able to live in a nice area...which I will be
able to afford...but I know they will be pulling my reports too.

I know this is a lot of questions...but I also noticed on my reports they list my address' and employment wrong...they do not have current info...is this something I should correct too?

Thanks...

Challenge everything on your credit report that you can. Only do a few per month as not to send up any red flags. If they can't keep your records accurate then they won't be able to validate the entry either most likely. Most CAs are concerned about getting paid and that is that. They do not usually have anyone assigned to respond. Just people to collect. Just remember if it comes off right away it can be put back on within thirty days so you will have to go back and check.

Hi all

Even I have heard that the collection agencies report bogus and false accounts. It really negatively affects our scores. You know with bad scores life is so difficult n what becomes more frustrating is the fact that your score went down because of sum bugging CA. But you can come out of this situation. Under the FCRA every consumer is entitled to dispute any information that he or she believes is false, inappropriate and inaccurate. So, if you find any error in your report dispute it with the CRA as well as the information provider, be it a bank or a CA.
