Hard Inquiry

I have a HArd Inquiry by a CA.
I did a vod letter and they responded with a letter sayoing they would not attemp to collect with validation.
1. can I remove the hard inquiry or shoudl it even be there?
2. CAn I not get the Credit bureaus to remove the items since the CA has reponded in this manner?

I meant to say that they said they would not continue collection
I meant to say that they said they would not continue collection efforts without validation...
Would they likely remove the account under thsi cricumstance and also the inquiry????
