I am sort of nervouse about being sued by a CA. If i am sued is there anything i can do to avoid getting a judgement that will show up on my report. I've made great strides in repairing my credit but have found this CA impossible to work with. Is it possible to settle after i'm sued and before it gets to court?

what is the real impact a public record would have on this?

A judgment on your credit report will lower your score, by how much I am unsure, I think it's around 50pts but I could be wrong.

If you are sued, you can work with them before a judgment is entered. ONLY work out an agreement if they will dismiss the case in writing. Show up to court unless you get something in writing from the court telling you not to.

I have a judgment against me from a year ago and it never showed up on my credit report, why? I don't know. Maby I am lucky or maby the courts are slacking behind or maby the courts just don't care.
