I sent a letter to Equidata. There are 5 accounts listed on my credit report with no amounts listed for the amounts due., and in each box N/D is listed nothing else. But this showwith 5 different account numbers. Which by the way only list the last 5 digits. They sent a letter back stating they could not find my account number and want me to calll them with my correct account number and or social security number to help them retrieve the account. The letter then went on to state that I could satisfy my account today by calling and paying the account in full at not charge using a check, visa or Master or debit card. Why would they say this if they can not find my account? What should I do?

Obviously they had enough inof to report you to the CRA's. They basically want you to do their work for them. Have you disputed these tradelines with the credit bureaus?

No I have not. I don't even know anything about these "bills". I pulled my credit report and had a total of 18 negitives. I feel I have to do something or they will do nothing with my validation letter.

Dispute the tradelines for "Multiple inaccuracies/incomplete" and make them supply every line item for each account. They may do nothing with your validation letter anyway but if they verify the disputes before providing validation, then thye have violated.
