Hi! I know a lady who gets paid $500 to remove items and lates from people's credit reports permanently. She says it's all within the legal reporting acts, etc. How does she do it? Is there a certain letter(s) that she writes, etc.? I've seen examples and it really does get done. Thanks!!

Michelle

You cannot remove a negative item from a credit report if it is legal. However, if you can make the creditor agree to pay for deletion agreement and get it in writing, the listing will be removed from your report once you pay off the debt in full. Moreover, if you find any creditor or a collection agency listing in your credit report, you can ask for debt validation. If they cannot provide you with proper validation of the debt, you can get the listing out of your report by sending dispute letters to the bureaus. You can find sample letters if you visit the link debt settlement letters .

Most "credit repair" companies are challenge factories. They challenge everything on your credit report with the hope that the companies will not be able to find your file or lack the manpower. A lot of them will take your money after the items are temporarily removed and then after thirty days they reappear on your report and your money is not refundadable. You can do that yourself. It is true that some items will be removed because of the above reasons but not as the norm.
