Can I limit the number of inquiries on my credit report? if so, how?

Yes, you can somewhat do so. Credit inquiries in a period of 45 days is regarded as a single inquiry. So, it will be updated as 1 inquiry in your credit report.
And, 2 types of inquiries are there - soft and hard. What I told is about hard inquiry. Soft inquiries don't hit your credit report badly. That is, you score won't get affected for that.
While shopping for credit card, make sure the inquiries are within the 45-day period.

You want a simple solution? Don't apply for a credit card or a loan. So there won't be any hard inquiry on your credit report.

Try to execute the inquiry within 45 days period. Also, try not to apply for too many types of loans at one time. Don’t start applying for credit until you’re sure about it.
