I recently found LVNV funding on my credit report. I googled them and gave a call. They could not find me anywhere in their computer, or record of me owing any money. I had them check my ex husband's name and they found an outstanding debt they have been trying to collect from him. In our divorce, he agreed to take on all debt in his name and I did the same. I am a fanatic with my credit (and he obviously is not) and I'm going crazy trying to get this off of my report! Does anyone have any advice out there?

Have you disputed it on the three major CRA's? Just explain it was/is a debt owed by your ex-husband, that is all I had to do and it was removed promptly. :)

Was this a joint account or in his name only? If it is a joint account, regardless of the divorce decree, you are equally responsible. You would likely have to take care of this and then bring him back to court to have the judge order him to repay you. If this is an account in his name only and you were only an Authorized User, dispute the account as Not Mine - AU Only with all reporting agencies.
