LVNV Funding appears on my credit report with an amount of $6,380 that I supposedly went deliquent on in 7/2005. I have never had any form of debt that came to that amount and have never heard from LVNV Funding about anything involving an account they picked up for collections. I HAVE had my identity stolen three times since 2001 and suspect this has something to do with one of those incidents, but how do I find out (1) what account LVNV is referring to and (2) how to get this off my credit report? I ask this because the credit cards that I am current on are shutting off my priviledges because of this false report!!

Hi,

why don't you take the initiative of calling up LVNV funding to get an appropriate information. The false report should be cleared off as soon as possible, when you are aware of the reason as to why this had happened, you should be confident to speak to them without fear.Try to bring out the truth and get your privileges back.Credit bureaus should also be informed for validation!

Hi Wemmons,

Send LVNV Funding a debt validation letter through certified mail, requesting a return receipt (CMRRR). If they fail to validate the debt, you will be able to dispute this item off your credit report. However, if you find out that this is a valid debt you will have to pay off the dues in order to remove the negatives from your credit report.

If the debt comes back validated, work out a payment plan with LVNV. Request LVNV to agree to a "Pay for delete" agreement. If LVNV agrees to PFD, the negatives will be removed from this account. However, if in any way you can prove that this was reported due to identity theft, you may be able to dispute this item. Can I know if you have any paperworks related to the identity thefts? Did not you file police report on the thefts, and wasn't your creditors notified about this?

Thanks
