I just ran my credit report and there a judgement with Midland Credit. I had a credit card in 1999 with a retailer and paid it off with a collection agency in 2002. I never requested for a letter I just paid it and thought it was taken care of. Well now I havea judgement with Midland and they sent it to a law office and the law office filed a civil suit against me in 9/06 in New Mexico. I havent lived in NM since 2000 and the address Midland provided the law office with is one I have NEVER heard of. The law office said since none of the letters were ever returned and I have no records of payment I must pay the principle, interest and fees. Am I screwed or do I have to pay again since I cannot affrod a lawyer?

Thanks for the help.

well if you can prove that address was old.you can have the judgement vacated and removed for improper service.go to your court clerk and they can help you with how to file the motion.btw anything connected with midland is bottomfeeding scuzz.don't believe them for a second.go to your court clerk and file the motion to vacate and have the judgement removed from your CR.

The address they have is one I have never heard of and I have been living in AZ since 2001. I can show proof that I have lived in Tucson since 2001. The civil case was filed in 2006 in New Mexico. THanks agian
