I want to increase my credit score. One of my friends suggested to take put 2-3 cards as it can help improve score. Will I do it? is it safe to do so or there are any loopholes

Okay. This strategy can help to increase your credit score provided you maintain a low credit utilization ratio. This strategy is good when you have a control on your expenses. Check out the annual charges and try to pay 90% of the balance every month.

Do you have a steady income? Can you manage the credit card bill payments? Remember, using multiple credit cards is not enough. they are not free money. You have to pay the bills in full and within time. So, before applying for multiple cards, make sure you can afford them.

If you seriously want to increase your credit score, along with keeping the credit cards you need to pay down your balances, and keep those balances low.
Pay your bills on time, if you have missed payments, get current and stay current.
