Mutiple collection agencys for same account/how to remove

I have a debt that the orginal creditor turned over to collection. This collection agency than sent or sold it to another collection agency. Who than in turn sent or sold to a third collection agency. The orginal creditor no longer shows on my credit report. The one debt now show up three different times under three different collection agencies with three different report dates. Can I get two of these removed from my credit report? Has anyone else had this problem and were you able to remove them?
