I tried to dispute the item through the credit report website and received investigative results of this matter and it was complete. I do recall receiving some music items from BMG but that has been awhile ago at least 2-3 years ago.
I have the collection agency's telephone number but I am very hesitant about calling them and would rather communicate with them in writing in trying correct the issue and have the derogatory item deleted from my credit report in exchange for payment as soon as possible.
I am willing to settle the account for the amount owed providing that I receive the collection deletion off my creditor report in return for that payment .
I have already written the Collection agency a letter via postal mail and sent it certified and receipt requested, signature, have emailed and faxed that same letter in regards to making a full payment in exchange for deletion from my Experian credit report.
I would like to receive written correspondence from the National Credit Solutions on their company letterhead and a name and a legible signature.
I am hoping that I hear something from this company soon because I would like to have this matter resolved as soon as possible
Is there a general turnaround time to find out, if the collection agency accepts your offer. How does that work? Any information or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Credit fraud
I have been in touch with the Federal Fair Trade Commission. This is a scam that is happening to MANY MANY people. I STRONGLY suggest that you contact the agency immediately. DO NOT PAY THE DEBT. Do not even bother calling. The chances are, you will speak to Jason, Michelle, Zoe, or Brandi. These four seem to be mentioned in complaints continuously on the internet. We must all come together, or at least get to the news with this. They seem to be hitting people's accounts as soon as they see you have made an inquiry so that you can purchase a large item (car, house, etc...)

I just began my nightmare with NCO via BMG/CMH. Yes, it was directly after I applied for a mortgage and yes, I only found out because of my credit report, and yes, it's been over five years, and yes, the charges are false - they won't provide me with an invoice or any documentation, and yes, they were rude and extremely aggressive. However I didn't speak with Jason, Michelle, Zoe, or Brandi, I got the lovely, very nasty Jade. I am taking the advice of NOT paying this scam, it will NOT repair your credit score. Once you have been tagged by a collection agency, it stays on your credit report(s) long after. You need to fight to have it removed altogether. Also, I just completed the form letter provided by my state attorney general, copied it and mailed it immediately. If I receive no assistance from them, I will contact an attorney. JADE didn't like when I asked for her extension to have my attorney contact them. THAT's when it got nasty. Coincidence? I don't think so. I will update with any progess and hope to hear any actions that resulted in a positive outcome (as Anonymous stated above). Good luck to all!

I am also stuck in the BMG/DirectBrands/NCS/CAG dance. And yes- it appeared right after applying for a mortgage. I have disputed them separately, done the DV separately. Now- I will be disputing DV'ing all of them with the exact same notice, letting each of them know that I know about the rest of them and that everyone is getting the same notice. This is BS and I will not stand for it.
Thanks
I have followed these steps: I submitted a dispute with Experian and a complaint with the FTC and emailed NC the debt validation letter and will send a certified letter in the mail tomorrow return receipt included. Thank you for getting my stress level down and that I DO have options.
NATIONAL CREDIT SOLUTIONS abusive tactic
We are experiencing the exact same tactic, except it with supposedly unpaid billings of $116 from Hollywood Video which closed locally in Aug. 2009 and went into bankruptcy. We did not owe HV a balance when they closed nor have we ever been contacted by HV or, until now when it popped up on my credit report today, 12-9-10 and dropped my score by 50 points. Interesting tactic to drum-up charges 17 month later when no one can provide proof of ???records??? (movie rentals receipts!??? Oh, sure!) can ever be recovered. We are also contacting the Az. Attorney General's office to fight this dishonest attempt to co-hearse money from responsible people through time delay tactics. NATIONAL CREDIT SOLUTIONS bought the debt of HV and now are bilking all those that they have records to recoup their losses.
NATIONAL CREDIT SOLUTIONS will send a detail report but you have call and ask for it, or they will just sit on your credit report until you cave in. But if you don???t fight the parasites like the NATIONAL CREDIT SOLUTIONS of the world , you???ll soon get eaten alive.

So I had an ordeal with NCS. I have a few pointers for those of you that have found out that a negative account has been put on your credit report from NCS. I have to admit, I was scared when my credit monitoring service notified me that NCS had put a deliquent account on my credit report. I owed $120 from a business that was closing and it had dropped my score from 738 to 680. I did my research online which included reading the threads on this website. First, you can dispute the charge with NCS. In my case it was listed on my Experian credit report so all I had to do was go to experian.com and file a dispute. it's very easy. If you need help with this, let me know. Second, if you know this is your account and you do owe on it, call NCS at 1-800-384-0585. Do not believe the previous posts about not paying the account. Sure you can dispute it and NCS will probably just notify the credit bureau to delete it from your account. But remember: the account is still past due and even if it's not with NCS anymore it can be transferred to another collections agency and may show up on your credit report. I spoke with an NCS representative who was very nice and informed me that if I paid the account, it would be deleted from my credit report. This is true! I paid it and it is no longer on my credit report. NCS will work with you and removes accounts after they have been paid from your credit report. Just remember: pay the account if you can or pay in installments after you speak to NCS. This does not cement the negative account in your credit report. It removes it. If you do not pay it it will show up sooner or later. Any questions-let me know and I'd be glad to help! :)

same thing. I just found out this last week when going to add my name to new husbands credit union bank. they wont touch me because I supposedly have money owing to BMG, which I never ordered. We all need to find out about a class action suit. what does everybody think. there would be alot of people after them, for ruining our credit, for false charges. Will check back to see if any one might be interested in that, with punitive damages added.

I also had something show up on experian credit report. NCS said I owed $122.00 in late charges for a movie that belonged to Movie Gallery in 2010. All though MG went bankrupt in july of 2010, They say I still owe it. But, we had been using netflix since 2006 and the movie turned out to be a X-Box game not a movie. We told him we had not recieved anything via phone call or mail from MG about the item being late and did not recognize the title. We asked him to send a copy of signed rental agreement for the Item. He informed us he did not have to, it was our responsiability to prove we returned it. I called Arkansas attorney general and sure enough they had been getting several complaints of credit alerts appearring state wide.

I have a collection for $36. ONLY on experian, go figure, and it took my credit score down by 50 points. I DID have an account with Columbia House, um 8 years ago, which was paid in FULL and the contract was fulfilled. So, even IF there was a debt, which there is not, it is beyond the statute of limitations. I was NEVER sent notification of this debt, and NCS claims I am beyond my window to be able to dispute it...i need HELP!

Yea I am dealing with them also. And the posters faking like consumers need to take a long walk on a short bridge. So what if they sue they still have to prove to the courts you did it. Respond to their lawsuit saying you did not order these and you told them numerous times and they file a frivolous complaint in retaliation of your request for validation. They probably try to use the lawsuit to scare you into settling cause some people have this big fear of going to court and settle instead of going to court. It is on the plaintiff to convince the court that you actually owed it since you said you did not. If that was the case police could take people to jail and say the killed someone and don't have any evidence at all. Its all a game of prove it and if they can't prove it now then they won't be able to prove it then. And I recommend not sending you signature also on your letters. I don't sign anything that I send collection agencies cause they are known to forge signatures. One thing about collectors they use lawsuit to put fear in your heart. Tell them okay see you in court AND MAKE SURE YOU SHOW UP. But NCS is only based in Oklahoma and if they try to sue everybody they would have to pay for their lawyer to fly there and appear before the court only to lose. I deal with alot of ordering and everything that I order from Amazon and ect. request for signatures for proof of delivery. So if you received something from these supposedly companies they should have tracking records and your signature if you actually order and received it. And do not be on the phone unless you are recording the calls for you record. They record the conversations you should too for you protection if you not going to do that mailing is fine. A company shouldn't have a excuses about mail when they ask you to mail it in. But everyone that never had any business relations with the companies they report should report it to the BBB, FTC, and your State Attorney General. And if they receive you notice of validation and ignore it report that also. Keep your report and send it to those sorry a** credit Union and say how they capable of validating with you but they can't provide proof to me. You want to know why all NCS have to respond back to the credit union is yes they do owe the money that is why it will not be removed. The credit Union don't actually do an investigation they don't as for a copy of the contract or signature nothing. They should just remove that service from their websites.

I've had the same problem. I never received any sort of statement in the mail, nor did I receive a phone call. I found out that it was on my credit report when me and my family applied for a mortgage. I sent an email asking that they please send me a DETAILED bill of what was bought and what was owed. Then about two or three days later all I received was a letter from the debt collector stating that I owe them money. I found that to be funny because I've never received a statement in the mail, yet they automatically send me a notice once I emailed them. I didn't disclose my address, yet they send me something. I'm assuming they've had it all this time and absolutely failed to send me a so-called statement simply because it's fraudulant. I found out online that BMG doesn't exist anymore and that they're trying to collect on whatever they can now even if it isn't legit. I just called the debt collector (National Credit Soutions, LLC) asking yet again for another detailed bill stating what was bought. I ended up having to leave a message because they were not open or nobody answered. It was before four oclock, and their letter stated they close at five my time. If I have the same problems as listed above then I will have to get my lawyer involved with it.
If you assert that the debt is not yours and back up your assert
If you assert that the debt is not yours and back up your assertion with a police report, you can mail the police report (FCRA 603(q) calls this an identity theft report), along with proof of your identity, and a statement that the debt is not associated with any transaction of yours, to the CRA.
This letter is sent under FCRA 605B, and requires the CRA to block any further inclusion of the information in your CR.
Of course, this does not remove it from your credit file, and a direct dispute under FCRA 623(a)(8) should also be pursued. Include the same police report in your dispute. 16 CFR 660.4(d)(3) specifically recognizes a police report as supporting docuentation for an "account/debt not mine" assertion.
