permissible purpose'. Is the inquiries on the part that others can see? If it is then that can lower your credit score. If this is the case you can send them a letter inquiring about their 'permissible purpose' and demand to know why they have looked at your private info. If they have an account on you, then you may open up a can of really annoying worms and have to deal with them.
If it is in the section that is for your eyes only, then I would just not worry about, but keep an eye on your credit reports to see if they put an account on. If you have current contact information on your report, you can watch for a letter or calls from them as well.
