My question is about negative items on your credit report. If you successfully pay off items that have been in collections, will they be reported to the credit bureaus as being paid and will this eventually raise your credit score? Will paying off charged off items raise your credit score? I'm trying to reduce the number of negative items in the most efficient way possible. Will they be reported as "charged off but paid/in collections but paid?" Also will negative items scheduled to be removed from your credit report raise you score once they are removed or has the damage been done?

I sent a pay-for-delete letter to a CA that I'm dealing with last week. Of course, the damn thing arrived on Saturday, so it didn't get delivered right away.

Anyway, they should've gotten it today. The USPS website updates at night, so I dunno yet.

They have ten days to get back to me on it. As soon as I have some concrete results to report, I'm planning to post the letter and discuss it.
