Can an original creditor AND a collection show on my credit?

Yes they can if they are reporting correctly.If creditor assigns a account for collection,they both will have history and all info. If debt is sold,creditor should show zero balance sold/transferred and last status of account before sale or transfer(write off,charge off,late,or paid as agreed).

On my reports,there are nine trade lines associated with a small student loan I took out and paid. It was sold twice before I finished paying it out. I also have two separate entries for my home mortgage which was also bought out by a different company. There are also multiple entries from Bank One,First Usa,and Chase associated with Chase swallowing these banks. :shock: :shock: :lol:
