Well I'm young and have had some really rough patches in my life since I turned 18.. as a result my credit went down the toilet, but I've been spending the past year and a half digging me out of the hole and am basically debt free.

My credit horrendous; only ONE credit card was "bad" (a store charge with a $150 limit at that), but I have bad markings from an old cell phone bill and some utilities.

Now my question is, what's the next step? What can I do to get myself into good standing? How about credit cards for people with bad credit?? Any suggestions as to what kind?? I have nothing to worry about; everything that happened that got me where I am is way behind me.. and like I said, I don't really have a problem managing money and credit cards were never a problem to begin with. I just know my score and overall my credit sucks so I need to take the next step here.

Thanks!

I'm happy to hear you have your outstanding paid off...good for you!! Now....what you can do is keep paying on things like loans, credit cards, etc...(if you have them). Building your credit, again, does take time...but, it DOES happen. Take it from me!! Went through a bad marriage ( nad ex ran EVERYTHING UP), going from POOR credit to FAIR credit now. So far, it's taken, abiut, 7 years to do. Just keep paying on what you ALREADY have and your Credit score WILL get better. I always say this....'one debt at a time', 'one day at a time.' Hope this advice helps.
