Old account collection letter

I received a letter today from rjm acquisitions saying they had purchased a delinquent account of mine. It is an overdraft account that must date back to 2005 at the latest. I haven't heard anything about this account for years, it does not show up on any of my credit reports, and I honestly thought I had paid it back when I was cleaning up my credit.
Should I pay this account? If I don't will it suddenly appear on my credit report after all of these years?
