Paid-off accounts ignored left on credit report

Are you seeing this item even after it's over seven years from the date of first delinquency? In that case, you will need to file a formal dispute with the CRA and request them to remove the trade line.

Trenity is correct,unless the account is reporting inproperly it is stuck on there for the duration.

What if I have an account that was paid through a settlement to an outside agency (not the original creditor)?

I have one that was paid off through an agency, but the original creditor still shows it as a charge off and reports it every month, but it is paid.

If they report it as a paid chargeoff with the correct balance,it is correct for it to remain there.
