So here's my dilemma: During my last semester at a state university, my mother whom I am a dependent of, lost her job. Throughout my college career she has been the one paying for my tuition but was not able to pay for my last semester. My tuition then went into collections and is now, unfortunately, negatively impacting MY credit score. Before finding out that we should have proposed a PFD, we have paid the collections off in full. Now it seems as though I am stuck with this for many years and I am desperate in finding some way to have this removed from my credit report. Is there any hope in disputing with the CA or any of the credit bureaus to have this taken off if I tell them my situation? Please help!

You went to school so of course it is going to affect your credit. It does not matter that someone else was paying it for you...you are ultimately the responsible party. And you could have applied for financial aid...you would have qualified for unsub federal loans.

You are going to have to deal with it on your credit. PFD dont work with schools because they hold the upper hand...you want your transcripts, you have to pay. It will report for 7 years from the time the tuition became past due.
