Late payments can be removed
from your credit report only under one circumstance. You have entered a
hardship program before missing out a payment on a credit card. In this
situation, creditors can't report late payments on your credit
card.
Hi Gill!
Many creditors are offering repayment assistance like waiving off late
fees, allowing to skip payments temporarily, lowering interest rates,
etc. as many people are going through financial hardship due this
pandemic. Have you opted for such repayment assistance programs?
If yes, most likely, the creditors will not report your late payments to
the credit bureaus.
