I currently have a score around the 650 range, and just got a new car on finance - so that will definitely help my credit.

Another thing I was considering was applying for a credit card and using it to pay the monthly bills (cable, electric, etc.), and paying the card off. Currently I make the monthlies with no problem, so I foresee no problem using a card to make a payment then paying the card the same way I would pay the bill if I weren't using the card. Would that be a good way to increase my score?

hi! i don't know whether taking another credit card will improve your score. all i know is if you are not in trouble and not desperately in need of money, PLEASE don't go on to take credit cards. you are quite comfortable in your present situation and don't have any financial problems as such. why do you want to take credit cards? you can never foretell the future, and God forbid if something happens and you are not in a position to make those payments, then you are going to make your life HELL. go through the forums and you will come across the horrid experiences faced by others when it comes to the repayment of CCs, trust me! in fact, in a way, you are BLESSED, leading a debt free life. why do you want to ruin it with your own hands? please don't take credit cards on instinct. this is not just for you, but for all the members of this forum. as far as your credit score is concerned, it will improve with time. who knows, if you take another credit card and fail to repay it, you might just ruin it even further. good luck! :)
