Has anyone had any success with pay for delete letters to collection agencies?

I sent 2 out 06/19/2009 but haven't received any response back from the collection agencies. Does anyone have a sample letter in case they don't write back?

Thanks!

The creditors may or may not agree to pay for delete agreement even if you agree to pay them off in full. They may only change the status of the listing to "paid in full" in your credit report. This is much more better that a judgment listing, which the creditor might bring if you do not pay them off.
Have you send them a DV letter?
If you have not, send them a DV letter by certified mail and get the debt validated, and pay them off.

the collection agencies i have sent pay for delete letters have sent back letters to validate the debt. i am keeping my fingers crossed that they will agree to delete the negative mark on my credit if i pay them in full.

what do i do about the agencies that do not respond for my request for debt validation?

If you have send Debt Validation letters to the collection agency and they do not validate it, you are not responsible for the debt. Wait for a month or so and then send dispute letters to the credit bureaus telling them that you do not agree with the listing in your report, and so you want to get them removed.

thank you! that is a great idea! i have sent follow-ups to the collection agencies who have not responded to my request after 30 days. should i send the dispute letters to the credit bureaus after 15 days from the follow-up letter?

do you have a sample letter i can send? also, would you recommend sending one letter to the credit bureau with all the collection agency disputes?
