Offers loans to low income families of Erie County who need to repair or purchase vehicles in order to obtain and/or maintain employment. Educational workshops are offered to address applicants' needs for financial literacy & issues related to proper automobile maintenance & safe driving. Open to Erie County families who include a child under 19 or who are non-custodial parents with an established child support order. Applicants' gross income within 200% of federal poverty levels & ineligible for conventional credit at reasonable rates of interest. Must be working at least 20 hours/week for a minimum of 3 months or be a student taking, at least, 9 credit hours in the 2nd semester or beyond. Applicants must have a valid NYS driver's license that hasn't been suspended or revoked within the past 2 years. Program will pay the third year of loan payments, in one disbursement for loan recipients who make timely monthly payments, for the first 24 months of their loans.
When my wife and I emerge from Chapter 7, we are going to need another car. I have checked into the gross income requirement and so far, so good. Would this be a good start to rebuild a positive payment history with this incentive??

It sounds legit, but, can you gather the money starting right now so that when you get out, you will have one cash! zero credit is better than godd or bad credit! think about that anything can happen while you're making those payment you know? I wish not but what if you can't make those payments due to an emergency? think about it....
