Thanks for posting.... I must admit, I have not even looked at my credit report for well over a year now. Mainly, because I know what I will see is going to make me sick to my stomach. My plan is to get my remaining two debts settled when I get the funds, and then focus on trying to clean up my credit report. I just don't see the point in attempting it while these debts are still looming.
Please keep us informed as to your progress with this, as your experience will be a help to others on here.

I agree with you Tiffany99, the last time I looked at my reports was earlier this year and it made me sick that's for sure. I agree it's not going to do any good until you can get the funds together to offer a settlement.
You are doing a great job shughes, keep up the good work.

I just recently have decided to take the rebuilding plunge. In little under a month, my equifax score has risen 20 points. That isn't bad. It took years to make this debt it's going to take years to make it better.

everytime i look at my credit report, i get totally disgusted because it is my own fault. the last time i looked, it was 13 pages long and most of it was charge-offs that i have not paid. my nephew told me to just dispute them all and some should come off. my daughter, who worked at a collection agency said that if i did dispute them and the original company cannot come up with the original contract to prove that the account was mind, it can be taken off. i just might do that this weekend to see what happens.

Today my equifax went up from 538 to 575. My alert said i had a negative item to fall off, and i had some accounts that are no longer impacting my credit. Well what ever it was i am really happy. Im not going to give up.

Don't give up Shughes! Little by little it will get better. Its certainly not an overnight thing.
The most important thing is that we've all seen what debt can do to us-emotionally, physically AND financially. We should learn from our mistakes & not go back there and in time we will all be on our feet again.
Keep up the good work & you'll see it pay off on your reports!

I was thrilled when I got a letter from a CC in my dmp. It said since I was making regular payments they would report me as current....and I should see that reflected in my report in about 90 days. I guess I will wait till then to check it again.
