hi i recently tried to refinance my home but didnt qualify because a need a 680 cr score and i have a 621 and they told me that maybe paying the accounts on my cr report will make my cr go up so i paid the 3 accounts i had on my cr 2 phone and 1 cable TO CA'S my cr score is a 621 do you think my cr will go up more than 680 ? and how much time will it take ?

the accounts are

and the ca's where palisades collections- gc services and cbc

thankss :]

Since the accounts are past due, they are reflected as negative in your credit report and will continue to stay in your report for seven years and six months from the date of your delinquency, even if you pay them off in full. So the credit history would be adversely affected.

But since the debt to credit ratio has reduced after paying off the debt, the "amounts owed" factor has improved and so your credit score would improve.

Now to increase your credit score to 680 and above, you need to improve your credit history also. So you should make regular payments on your existing accounts. I think you can take your credit score to 680 within a year or so, if you are regular with your payments.

To the person who last posted- you are a troll and need to leave and get a life.

To the person asking the question- I really don't know, but I have been reading a lot of information about increasing your credit score and some of the best information I have found is regarding some of the prepaid type credit cards. You basically pay a service fee every month and have x amount of dollars put on that card. You then pay your bills with that card. You are not technically charging a huge debt, you are using your credit line out of money that you have already paid. One man on the local news in Dallas did this a few months ago and was able to raise his credit score from the low 500's to the mid 600's in a matter of six months. You can google nbci5 and put credit repair in their search and you might be able to find the news report. It was in May that I saw the story.

HTH and good luck.
