My husband and I have accrued alot of credit card debt. In 2006, became unable to pay. MANY accounts charged off. Being hounded day & night be collection agencies. We refinanced our house in 2007 and paid some of the accounts which show paid charge off. Now the worry is a bigger mortgage, which next year the interest rate is schedule to adjust and go up. Fico scores are terrible. In fact mine was around 500 prior to refinance, paid off some accounts, went up to 560 in September. Have been paying everything else on time and now scores down to 486 in January. My husband's scores did not drop and his credit reports list 2 collection agencies, mine does not list collection agencies, although there are several agencies after me. We do not have money to start paying off or negotiating settlements. How can we get the scores up in time to refinance next year?

I always read that the companies that say they can repair your credit are scams. That they cannot repair your credit.I know credit card companies look at the amount you owe on a card and compare it to how much your limit is. It isn't good if you keep a bigger balance owed than a limit. Thats my problem .My hubby ran my card to the limit after running his out.Now i just play with 100 that is on there .I pay it down then i need to use some.I know it doesn't look good .I do pay them on time never late and I pay mostly a few dollars over what the payment is.
