i just called a CA for an old fuel bill that was on my credit....i had an account number for it too....but he insisted i give him my social security # which i did....anyways i am doing this b/c i am trying to improve my credit score....my real estate broker told me there were 4 bad things on it and she gave me all 4 listings and the account #'s and the 1-800 #'s to call....
anyways this NCO Financial guy tells me there are other things i owe (which my mortgage broker did not see on my credit report....he tells me i owe progressive insurance $47 - no biggie....but i also owe $2,000 on a discover card (i think i only charged about $800 or $1000 on it) i had when i was in college....i got the card in 96' and that's when i used it.... and now they got this bill from discover....
would not that progressive insurance which was also from the mid - 90's and the discover card bill be null and void b/c it is over 7 years ??? should i not worry about them appearing on my credit report ?
